Let’s Bake 15: New to You

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

To celebrate a new year starting, our fifteenth (!!) Let’s Bake event will take the opportunity to bring in 2017 with a ‘New Year, New to You’ theme.

Whether it’s a recipe that you’ve always liked the look of but never got round to making, a recipe from a recipe book you got for Christmas, or a new technique (making meringues always phased me until I bit the bullet and tried making them!), you have completely free rein on what to bring along. It’s a brand new year, so a perfect time to try something brand new to you!

Here are all the details – as usual, please email letsbakeinverness@gmail.com to book your place.

Date: Sunday 29th January 2016, 4pm-5:30pm

Venue: Blend Tea and Coffee Merchants

Theme: New to You

Let’s Bake 13: Pastry

As the darker, colder nights are already drawing in, it’s time to step away from the salads and tuck into autumnal comfort food. So our theme for our next Let’s Bake event is… Pastry!

Whether you choose puff, choux or shortcrust (or any other kind of pastry!), go for full-on pie, elegant tart or mini patisserie, is totally up to you. We’re looking forward to trying a mix of sweet and savoury fillings!

Here are all the details – as usual, please email letsbakeinverness@gmail.com to book your place!

Date: Sunday 23rd October 2016, 4pm-5:30pm

Venue: Blend Tea and Coffee Merchants

LETS BAKE 7 : AUTUMN FLAVOURS

pumpkin orange cake 2

Hi Let’s-Bakers!  Kirsty here with details of our next meeting.  We’re heading back to Velocity on Stephens Brae at the end of the month for and Autumnal Flavours themed bake club.  Think pumpkin pies,  apples and pears or warm cinnamon spices – anything which you think sums up the season in one bake.  The BBC Food website has a great collection here.

As always sweet and savoury are both welcome and it’s all in good fun, there is no competition here.  Just lots of tea and home baking!

Date: Sunday 25th October

Time: 3-5pm

Venue: Velocity, St Stephen’s Brae

Theme: Autumn Flavours

To sign up: Email letsbakeinverness@gmail.com to book a place (a comment on this post doesn’t guarantee you a spot, we like to keep all the sign ups in one place for the sake of accuracy!) and we’ll remind you nearer the time to let us know what you are bringing so appropriate labels can be made. If you are bringing something that needs slicing at the cafe, please bring your bake pre-sliced or bring your own knife/cake slice. As usual we’ll provide reusable plates. Velocity will have hot and cold drinks available for purchase.
