Let’s Bake 18: Biscuits & Bars Round Up

Another great meeting on Wednesday at our usual spot in town, Blend.  We had a good turn out of familiar faces and lots of delicious biscuits and bars to accompany our teas, coffees and juices.

We were of course very sad to bit farewell to co-founder/organiser Susan, as this was her last meeting before she and her husband head north on a new adventure.  We wish them all the best and can’t wait to hear about how they get on.

On to the bakes!

Heather’s sticky Butterscotch & Mashmallow Bars tasted like nougat and were delicious!

Swenja make the cutest Chai Latte Biscuits, decorated to look like teabags!

Dawn brought along extremely tasty Spiced Orange Caramel Shortbread.

I (Kirsty) made Apple and Pear Crumble Bars, which were loosely based on this recipe.

Marion brought a traditional Dutch Dikke Speculaas which gets broken up into smaller pieces to be eaten.  It tasted lovely dunked in my cappuccino.

Susan baked the very more-ish Ginger Crunch bars from the Mountain Cafe Cookbook.

Chloe helped us all out by bringing a savoury option, Cheese and Walnut Biscuits, as well as some Toffee Apple Sandwich Cookies.

Rebecca make Chocolate Orange Vienesse Swirls which looked great and had a tasty orange curd centre.

And finally Mairi baked the classic Custard Cream biscuit, which went very nicely with a cup of tea!

Thanks to everyone for coming along.  Keep and eye on the blog and the Facebook page for details of the next meeting in the new year.
