Let’s Bake 9: Cocktail Party Round Up

This months Let’s Bake meet up was in a new venue (to us) and it was a really fun change.  We met up on a Sunday afternoon in Bar One for a Cocktail Party themed afternoon.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff and some of our members even managed a cocktail or mocktail!  All of the bakes were delicious as usual, most of them laced with booze in small (or not so small) amounts!  There were also a couple of savoury options to help balance the sweetness.

Thanks to all who came and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kirsty brought along the savoury option – Pesto and Parmesan Cheese Straws and Bacon, Chipotle and Cheddar Cheese Straws.

Helen and Anna with a very decadent Kentucky Boubon Cake.

Susan’s Blackberry and Hazelnut cake was topped with a tasty Sloe Gin Glaze.  Susan also brought homemade Scotch Eggs which were very popular but I forgot to photograph them!

Dorothy’s Boozy Mud Cake was dense and delicious.

Lovely to welcome new members to the group.  Gwyneth was one of our three newbies this week and she brough some Mojito Cupcakes.

Mairi’s Pina Colada cakes were so beautifully decorated and they tasted great too.

Sticking with the Pina Colada theme Swenja’s did a cake version instead, I particularly loved the cherries!

Just look at that beautiful pastry!  Lyndsey’s tart was a big hit and looked to professional.
